The next installment of the WEGO Health Activist Writer’s Month Challenge. (Told you I still remember the acronym.) It’s another choice post:
Health Activist Choice Day 2! Write about whatever you like.
Just like last time, I’ll be posting health and wellness links from the past week or so. Because links round ups have a special place in my warped little soul. Also because sometimes I read awesome stuff that deserves to be recognized:
I Learned about Patient Advocacy the Hard Way by Casey Quinlan at Cancer for Christmas — “When we pulled open the drawer where she kept her medications and found more than 40 bottles of pills – all current scripts – we figured out pretty quickly what the disease was that we were dealing with. Stupidity.”
Big Fat Money by Ragen Chastain at Dances With Fat — “In conversations with a lot of different people who do work in Size Acceptance and Health at Every Size they also get e-mails like that and they get a lot of pushback when they charge for their work, including being accused of being ‘money grubbing’.”
The paradox of pink by Caitlin at Fit and Feminist — “I realized that I feel extra-aggressive when I’m decked out like this, and that the aggressiveness is tinged with subversion, a combination of which I am always a fan. Pink disarms people.”
SI Joint Pain and Yoga by Nadine Fawell at Yoga with Nadine — “I will add that in yogis, SIJ dysfunction is almost always a result of acquired hyper mobility in those joints. This hyper mobility generally develops over time, by repeated insult to the ligaments that hold the joint stable.”
Once again, if you know of or have written any relevant health and wellness posts, you should feel free to add them in the comments here as well.
